I'm a coach and team practitioner based in Novara, northern Italy. I work in Italian, English and Spanish, through SummusPerforming, the practice I've been running for over ten years, which means I've spent a lot of time thinking about how much of what we call leadership is actually just culture in disguise.

I'm interested in what makes people and teams actually function. Not perform, function. The difference matters more than most frameworks admit.

Some of what shaped that came from unexpected places. Working with children with autism taught me early on that presence and pragmatism are not opposites and that the most important things happening in any relationship are rarely the most visible ones. That stayed with me.

I also practise theatre. Not as a metaphor for leadership, I find those analogies a little too neat. More as a space where you can't fake presence, and where relating to others starts with relating to yourself. It keeps me honest.

I'm the father of a daughter, my most demanding teacher. She keeps reminding me that care is not a soft skill, and that love, yes, that word, is the most underrated variable in any relationship, including the professional ones. We just don't say it out loud in organisations. Maybe we should start.

This blog is where I think out loud. It's not a portfolio. If something I write makes you think, or disagree, I'd like to hear from you. LinkedIn is where I'm most likely to respond.
